Patchwork Tablecloth
I saw this tablecloth in a Magic Crochet Magazine and finally found some very faded instructions on a Russian site.

worked in #40 crochet cotton and a 1.0 steel hook. You will need about 3,800 yds of yarn you could use any cotton yarn and the appropriate hook size. I do not have any written instructions but the charts are reasonably easy to follow. This is worked across all 9 motifs in rows set out as shown below each square on the chart is 2x2 filet crochet worked an empty square = Tb1 (one over hook) ch2 Tb1 each filled square = 3Tbl each motif is 15 x 15 filet crochet squares 3 ch count as first dc and 2 ch form first open mesh OM). Start by working 406+5 chain 3 ch count as first dc and 2 ch form first open mesh and work as per pattern below |
the diamond shaped motif is rather tricky see below for a charted explanation:
The oblique pattern 5th motif from left on bottom row has a special stitch which is worked by 5ch 1dbl 5 ch across 4 filet spaces wth a tbl at each end
And finally here is the chart for the border
Reversible Lace Coaster
I found a pattern on Pinterest which was a single sided coaster. I have adjusted and amended the basic pattern making it a double sided coaster, which allows better protection for your table. I have made a set of four of these little coasters each with centre and surrounds in different colours, blue, pink, yellow and green. I worked this lacy coaster in DMC Petra Crochet Cotton and a no 1.5 m steel crochet hook. Below is both a written pattern and a link to the original post with chart...... |
When reading the chart via the link please note that i have amended the pattern on the 6th round to contain 15 tr stitches not 11 as shown: Scroll down to the bottom of the blog page for the chart.
